Introducing Jomar & Manik, Provisioning & Support Engineers

19 Aug 2026

Manik and Jomar both started with the Devoli Customer Success team in July 2026. They both come with strong experience in telecommunications provisioning and support, and have both made an immediate impact with great feedback coming in from Devoli partners.

Starting with Jomar, they tell us a bit about themselves below.

Welcome to the team Jomar!

Where did you work prior to Devoli and what was your main role there?

Prior to Devoli, I was a Provisioning Engineer at Kordia where I was responsible for end-to-end provisioning, relinquishments, low-level design, configuration, testing and implementation of a variety of complex carrier Ethernet and IP services.

My role heavily focused on hands on routing, switching, IP services and network security implementations where I primarily deployed Direct Internet Access, WAN access, L2VPN and L3VPN over MPLS, and SD-WAN services, working with different vendors such as Nokia, Fortinet, Cisco (and Meraki), RAD. I also provided warranty and cutover support and actioned Move, Add, Change and Delete orders.

I worked on projects across a diverse range of sectors including enterprise (Harvey Norman, Repco, Metlifecare, GO Rentals, Vulcan Steel etc) and MSPs (like CodeBlue, Telesmart, Tribe, Plan B/Attura, Macquarie Telecom and more) to global carriers (AT&T, NTT, Tata Communications etc) and mission-critical government entities, both local and overseas, like Maritime NZ, Coastguard NZ, Royal New Zealand Navy, NGCC Public Safety Network and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

What will you be doing at Devoli? Describe your role and how you fit into the wider business?

I’ve joined Devoli as a Senior Provisioning and Support Engineer, I’m here to own problems, customer-wise and network-wise, when they get tricky. This ranges from tackling complex faults, complex provisioning, owning incidents, and even going to customer sites whenever needed. I will also be providing technical mentorship and knowledge sharing to our team where necessary and most importantly, to keep our customers confident that they are in safe hands by acting as a trusted technical contact.

What are you looking forward to most about the coming year, personally and work-wise?

I’m looking forward to visiting my hometown soon as I have not been there for nearly two decades.

Work-wise, I’m looking forward to learning how Devoli’s network operates compared to other more traditional providers and I’m also excited to be a part of a team that is challenging the “big players” in the industry.

AI is a critical part of the future of all technology roles. How do you plan to harness AI in your role going forward?

I use it to simplify complex technical topics and problems and ask it to spin up realistic lab scenarios to test configs/recreate faults. I also use it as a troubleshooting assistant by making it act as a second pair of eyes for things that I might miss, especially when dealing with complex issues.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

PC gaming, early morning aimless cruising (driving) and I’ve recently gotten back to Warhammer 40K.

Next up: welcome Manik!

Where did you work prior to Devoli and what was your main role there?

I was a NOC Engineer at Atturra, responsible for managing customers' MPLS-based WAN environments. I was also part of the Bapcor project, where Devoli played a major role in the Australian connections across their large network of retail stores. My role on that project was as a Network Engineer, responsible for cutting sites over from legacy Cisco hardware to a full Fortinet SD-WAN build.

Alongside the technical responsibilities I also had experience in fault management, raising issues with LFCs and following a full escalation matrix process for major internal/external outages.

What will you be doing at Devoli? Describe your role and how you fit into the wider business?

At Devoli I'm responsible for looking after our business customers, building strong client rapport while working alongside Account Managers and Technical Sales Consultants to deliver the best solutions for our customers. I'll be involved in both the support and provisioning space, handling the full end-to-end delivery of the connection as well as resolving complex technical issues.

What are you looking forward to most about the coming year, personally and work-wise?

I am looking forward to the growth Devoli has to offer, both for my career and my personal development. Having full exposure to our client and partner meetings is something I have always aspired to be a part of, taking charge of customers’ services end to end while gaining a deeper understanding of their setups. Above all, I’m looking forward to becoming a trusted member of both the team and our customers’ operations.

AI is a critical part of the future of all technology roles. How do you plan to harness AI in your role going forward?

AI is something I see as a tool to make us more efficient. I have previously built automation tools using AI and am open to building something similar here when I find the right use case, with the goal of improving productivity and shortening resolution times.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I love sports. I enjoy playing tennis and struggle to play golf, but still love it. During the winter, I like heading up to the mountain with my board and do my best not to break a bone.
