Welcoming Jen & Angela to our Retail Partner team

Recently we had two talented new hires join the team to work closely alongside our Retail Service Provider (RSP) partners: Jennifer O'Hara, Strategic Partnerships Manager and Angela Day, Operations Manager.

Let's start with you Jen. Where did you work prior to Devoli and what was your main role there?

Prior to having an entrepreneurial stint running two e-commerce businesses, I was GM Sales and Marketing for Global Dairy Trade, a B2B online trading platform for large dairy producers.

What will you be doing at Devoli? Describe your role and how you fit into the wider business?

I’ll be looking after some of Devoli’s key customer relationships, helping them get the most value from our platform and finding opportunities to grow those partnerships.  I’ll be working closely with teams across Devoli to make sure we’re solving customer problems, reducing complexity and making it easier for businesses to provide connectivity without having to become a telco themselves.

What are you looking forward to most about the coming year, personally and work-wise?

I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into a new challenge, getting back into the telco and connectivity space and getting to know the Devoli team and customers. I’ve already felt so welcomed and I’m really pleased to be part of such a great team. Outside work, I’m looking forward to a long summer, camping at the beach, and getting over to Melbourne to visit my daughter.

AI is a critical part of the future of all technology roles. How do you plan to harness AI in your role going forward?

I love how AI-forward Devoli is, and it was definitely something that attracted me to the business. I’m already harnessing it in my everyday work (and home!) life, so I’m really looking forward to building on this at Devoli. It’s already opening up huge efficiencies, but importantly, it also makes us think differently about where our human skills are best utilised. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside work, I’m a big fan of gardening, BBQs, cooking, good food and getting out for a bike ride. My two girls have recently left home, so I’m getting used to having a little more time and space to myself – although I’m lucky to have friends who are always dropping in, so there’s rarely a quiet house for long!

Next up, Angela. Where did you work prior to Devoli and what was your main role there?

I worked in the financial services sector in digital operations. My focus was on project management, transformation and operational improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams, covering governance, risk, vendors and stakeholder management.

What will you be doing at Devoli? Describe your role and how you fit into the wider business?

As an Operations Manager for our retail service partners my focus will be improving day-to-day operations through automation and reducing cost-to-serve for both Devoli and our retail partners.

What are you looking forward to most about the coming year, personally and work-wise?

I’d like my first year at Devoli to be about building strong relationships and understanding current operations whilst finding opportunities on where to add value.

Outside of work, I hope to kick off some home renovations that have been in the pipeline for some time.

AI is a critical part of the future of all technology roles. How do you plan to harness AI in your role going forward?

I see AI as a force multiplier, not a replacement for people. It's about giving people better tools to do their jobs. The key is starting with the problem: what are we actually trying to solve, and can AI solve it better? It's not about using AI just because we can.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I have a young family, so a lot of my time is spent doing things with (or for!) them – which I love. I am a big sports fan, enjoy getting outdoors and being active.
